Toy Train - The Nilgiri Mountain Railway Toy Train is the chief attraction of Ooty. An experience in the toy train is no less than a joy ride, wrapped with amazing views of tunnels, slopes, fog, forests, tea gardens, etc. In function since 1899, during the British Raj, the toy train is still one of the major attractions in Ooty and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Avalanche Lake - The Lake is popular due to its unique vista. The water body was formed after a massive landslide, that occurred somewhere around the 1800s, and hence the name Avalanche Lake. Tourists can indulge in trout fishing, getting the equipment from the Trout hatchery. The place is also a classic picnic spot and other activities like rafting, camping and trekking to Upper Bhavani are quite popular at Avalanche Lake.
